A brief set by my university resulted in a multi-media installation based on one of the oldest pubs in Manchester and its loyal regulars. Having worked at the pub, ‘The Angel’ for the past year, I’ve not only been pulling pints, but also connecting with the regulars. By listening to their stories, I have gotten to know the people that make The Angel more than just a pub, but a community.  

‘The Angels’ is a project which features a collection of audio recordings paired with photographed portraits. The exhibit aims to capture the pub regulars’ spirit and humour, as well as represent the faces at the bar, voices in the beer garden and the sense of community that ties them all together. The installation was exhibited to the public in April of 2025 in Bristol, UK.
